Growing instrument and simulation resolution are driving a deluge in research data. And while today’s high capacity storage systems can accommodate the sheer volume of data produced, they can’t help identify what data is valuable or how to move and process that data through a research workflow, or securely sharing research data with geographically dispersed collaborators, making sure that data is authentic and unaltered and easily reproduce, and cost effectively curating and ensuring continued access is critical to driving results and new discovery. The alternative is that important scientific data can become effectively lost forever.
